Position: Health Educator
Availability: Until Filled / Full Time / E.O.E. Hybrid Position
Starting Salary: $45,000 - $46,000/ Year
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct presentations regarding substance use prevention to elementary, middle, and high school youth, parents, community members.
- Plan, develop and conduct primary prevention outreach and education to various demographics.
- Coordinate with schools, community groups and local agencies to implement substance use related programs and services.
- Participate and attend school and local community meetings and trainings.
- Strong understanding and interest in current youth and substance use related issues.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Participate in grant writing opportunities when needed.
- Effectively network with other agencies and represent Partners4Wellness in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in health science or related field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Good Public Speaking skills with the ability to engage audience.
- Have knowledge regarding local community resources.
- Prior experience in alcohol, tobacco, prescription, and other drug prevention a plus
OTHER:
- Always maintains professional behavior and appearance.
- Attend community meetings and training courses as needed.
- Assist with creating and developing project materials.
- Assist with other duties as assigned which may include weekends or evenings.
- Maintain and/or build strong relationships with school administration and community agencies.
- Work independently, as well as a team member and be self-motivated.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work throughout Orange County
