DUI Group Leader

Purpose: To provide Drinking Driver participants with professional Group sessions and carry out provisions of Title 9 per State and County guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience providing group session services.
• Ability to manage participants through DUI services.
• Knowledge and ability to implement Title 9.
• Education and Professional background in human services, education, or health care discipline.
• Cultural competency.
• Ability to monitor participant activities, verify documents, and guide participants through completion of the program.
• Possess the skills to identify and refer clients to outside services when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Encourages the participants to talk and share ideas and information to identify and resolve alcohol or drug related problems.
Provides an opportunity for participants to examine their own personal attitudes and behavior.
Provides support for positive changes in lifestyle to facilitate reduction or elimination of alcohol or drug problems.
Sessions may emphasize a specific topic or may be less structured in nature.
The licensee shall not use films or lectures to meet the number of hours of group sessions.
Time allowed for breaks shall not be counted as part of the minimum time required for group sessions.
