PREVENTION: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Prevention means stopping substance use before it starts — helping individuals and communities stay safe and healthy. In our community, the biggest challenges we face include underage drinking, vaping and tobacco use, marijuana, and the dangers of fentanyl.

By understanding these risks and taking action early, we can build a healthier, safer community for everyone. Prevention starts with education, awareness, and support — and it takes all of us working together.

ALCOHOL & OTHER DRUGS

Alcohol and other drugs, including marijuana and fentanyl, can harm developing brains and lead to risky behaviors. Preventing youth substance use protects them from these serious consequences.

VAPING & TOBACCO

These products aren’t harmless. Vaping exposes the lungs to harmful chemicals that can cause lasting damage, while nicotine rewires the brain and fuels addiction—especially among young people.
